600 Years of History.
18 Months of Renovation.
Nothing Plastered Over.

The Haagenhube in Pusterwald — first documented in 1479, destroyed by fire in 1952, rebuilt in 1954. And in 2025, truly finished for the first time. Behind the project: a Styrian from Oberzeiring who worked in Silicon Valley — and returned to create something real at home.

Chronicle of the Farm

Over 600 Years — one place, many times.

The Philosophy

Preserve Character.
Never Deny Comfort.

Heavy wooden beams still carry the ceiling of the farmhouse parlour. At the same time, wild oak parquet floors and a 5-metre panoramic window in the top-floor living room ensure that nothing is lacking in comfort.

Once: an outhouse in the yard. No shower, only cold water — not even in the kitchen. A single room was heated: the Stube with its tiled stove. Today: six bedrooms, four full bathrooms with rain showers, pellet central heating throughout the house, a wood-burning stove in the top-floor living room, 280 m² of fully renovated living space. The result is a house that has not been whitewashed but has remained honest — and where you can today find complete peace and quiet.

Behind the project: Martin Moschitz-Kumar — raised in Oberzeiring, just a few kilometres away. TU Graz, MIT Boston, then years in Silicon Valley. The longing for real places grew there, the deeper one becomes immersed in the digital world. A house that has stayed real — that was the only brief.

The Concept · Detox Almhaus

Architecture for people
who know when it's time
to switch off.

Behind the house is more than a renovation. Detox Almhaus is a consciously designed place — for all those who are immersed in the digital world every day and know how important true offline time really is.

Digital Detox · Phone Box
A phone box for those who truly want to switch off. No mandatory WiFi, no noise — just silence.
1,200 m altitude · Pusterwald
Untouched nature, no through road, no forced mobile signal. Silence here is not a promise — it is geography.

"Silence cannot be simulated. Here it simply exists."
